Melinda and Ron
The Brief: This invitation package was designed to represent a love story that spanned continents, flourished in the beautiful locations of Paris, Lisbon, Calais, Amsterdam and Brussels, before settling down in Australia. Not only is their story amazing, but the couple, Melinda and Ron, are pretty darn amazing too. It was an absolute pleasure putting this invitation together, and such a creative, fulfilling experience to bring this vision to life.

Sarah and Matt
The Brief: Hot pink and orange: these were the colours already chosen by Sarah when she first got in contact with us, and we knew right away it would be a very vibrant project, jam-packed with all the details that Sarah and Matt had already organised.

Brendan and Chelsea
The Brief: Brendan and Chelsea had not picked their bridesmaid's dress colour when they first began planning their event stationery, so as an alternative source of colour inspiration, we based this invitation suite on Brendan's suit! Blooms of white and green give this invitation the perfect fresh, vibrant feel, to compliment their late spring wedding.

Erin and Ryan
The Brief: This is one of our all-time favourite invitations (and couples). Erin and Ryan's invitation was stylish, youthful and thoughtful. Through their attention to detail and boundless enthusiasm, the couple created a useful source of information that also doubled as a tribute to their own one-of-a-kind relationship, and a welcome invitation package to close friends and family to share this long awaited, special event with them.

Colours were an easy decision for Erin and Ryan: they had already selected Erin's dress (ivory), and their bridesmaid's dresses (purple) when they first sat down to talk all things invitations. However, the addition of hunter green really set off the colour scheme and made it contemporary and fresh. Considering how vibrant and youthful Erin and Ryan are, this was a great combination and a more accurate representation of them as a couple.
Erin and Ryan's invitation format was something new that we had not tried before, but ended up working out beautifully: key features included a vertical bellyband, a folder that opened up two different ways, a perforated RSVP card (a popular choice and one that really worked in this design) and a complex folding system that allowed a pocket to form that held a pull-out map, wish tree card and gift suggestion details. When closed, the package was lush and weighty: adding to a real sense of excitement when received!

Inserts inside the invitation were made to coordinate with Erin and Ryan's chosen colour scheme, in graduated purple hues. Purple and white polka dots lined the back of each pull-out card. A feature that Erin and Ryan's guests put to good use was the inclusion of a wish card, which could be filled out ahead of the wedding date and brought along to the reception to hang on Erin and Ryan's "wish trees". A novel and interactive alternative to a guestbook.

As a little extra detail, we also designed this cute pattern to adorn certain items of Erin and Ryan's invitation suite. I like the fact that its a small detail, but once noticed, something that again ties back to Erin and Ryan's unique union.

After putting together this wedding invitation suite, we was lucky enough to also be asked to contribute to the design of Erin and Ryan's "Day Of" items - coordinated stationery to be used at the ceremony and reception of their wedding. We have included some photography below, taken during the set-up process, to show how these little elements came together in the reception area!

At every table, we designed personalized place mats, the table favors - sweet little boxes of chocolates with a button badge on each tag, and the plum table number cards - these items complimented the stationery suite of Erin and Ryan's invitations and Order of Service booklets perfectly. Flowers were by a local florist and the event took place at The Boardwalk in Bendigo. Closer to the reception time, we scattered hand cut paper butterflies around the centres of each table which was a really cute, whimsical touch.

For the ceremony, we made Order of Service booklets - compact little books, each labeled with the guest's name, which ran through the ceremony outline as well as told the story of how Erin and Ryan met, and contained their unique vows to each other.

To tie in with a subtle butterfly theme, we made a seating chart, constructed with a frame for each table, that listed seating arrangements and also featured a 3D paper butterfly.

For the younger guests, we made two types of table favours: colouring book and pencil packs (which contained stickers to decorate their works!), and new item for us, disposable camera packs that came with a little "shot list" for budding photographers to check off during the night, a little like a scavenger hunt. Apparently both options went over well with the younger set!

And for those young at heart, these little favour boxes. Erin and Ryan found these fabulous clear boxes, and we decorated them in their colours. The badges were a last minute addition, but a total hit with guests!

There's few things that make you feel prouder, than hearing from your clients that their guests carefully put away many of these items to keep as mementos at the reception! We're working with Erin and Ryan a few projects for the future, and I feel very thankful that we've made two such lovely new friends.
Congratulations Erin and Ryan!

Tamara and Taina
The Brief: Tamara and Taina had begun planning a beautiful wedding ceremony on Anzac Day in the Hunter Valley when they approached us for some ideas on invitation design. We were delighted to be involved in such an interesting project from a very interesting couple!

Each invitation cover was hand-trimmed to complement the Chantilly lace edging of the design on the front of the folder, and tied with a beautiful white satin bow - both features of Tamara's wedding dress that she wished to hint at in the design. We worked in many facets of the couple's relationship and personalities, including their backgrounds (Taina is Maori/Scottish, and Tamara is Australian/Italian), as well as using their wedding destination and colours as a continuing theme. We also included a contemporary tiered card system, stylishly presented in a cute folder, for Taina and Tamara's friends and family.
As Tamara and Taina's special day was a destination wedding, a lot of information had to be provided to the guests. Insert cards featured the details of the wedding ceremony, plans for entertainment for Taina & Tamara's guest for the Friday preceding and Sunday following the ceremony, gift registry suggestions and accommodation details for the Hunter Valley, as well as a fold-out map showing how to get from the ceremony to the reception.

The cards were designed to be trimmed on a slant at the top, alternating direction, so that when placed in order in the folder, they would create an attractive, contemporary pattern in shades of purple. A floral/vineyard illustration was also used to decorate the invitation card and to further tie in with the ceremony's surrounds. RSVP cards were also included in the package - these were designed as self-sealing post ready cards that could be filled out, folded up and sealed, and sent back to Tamara and Taina.
Each invitation and RSVP card was then carefully placed in a beautiful metallic lilac envelope, and adorned with a printed guest address label. These invite packages were a hit with Tamara and Taina's guests, who were able to get a feel of the wonderful festivities ahead from their beautiful invitations.
Menus, Table Numbers and Placecards:
In addition to the invitation suites, we also designed several additional items for use at the ceremony and reception. Menus were created to compliment the colour of the bridesmaid dresses in a lovely muted champagne and were tucked inside a crisp white napkin at each place-setting at the reception.

To also tie in Taina's love of sports, the tables for the reception were named after legendary All Blacks players & Italian soccer players. The couple carefully compiled information on each of these sporting heros to display on the table cards. These were constructed in a similar fashion to the invitation cards in order to tie in with the overall suite. A Maori-inspired pattern was printed on the back to add a little more interest to the other side of the cards. One was placed at each table amid beautiful purple floral arrangements. We also designed a place card as part of Taina and Tamara's invitation suite - they utilized the overall design motif whilst remaining elegant and simple.
Order of Service Booklets:
To add a little dimension, a tall piece of paper containing the order of the service was attached to a backing card (similar to the invitation cards), gently folded and tucked underneath another pretty white satin ribbon.

Each of the cards had a real 3D feel, due to the nature of the the gently folded paper sheet, and with the addition of more of Taina & Tamara's ribbon, became like another little packaged gift for the guests.
Seating Chart:
Rather than the standard list of guests at each table, we decided to try something different, and create a Relationship Tree of how all the guests were related to each other, and to Taina and Tamara.

Fine lines connected each guest and specified which table they were sitting at, families were grouped together in order of family hierarchy and if a guest played a special part in the wedding ceremony, a little symbol indicated their involvement. This chart was printed on a large format card stock and laminated to display on an easel at the reception venue.
Thankyou Cards:
We were very excited to be able to also design Taina and Tamara's thankyou cards, which they sent out shortly after the wedding to thank all their friends and family for attending. As the couple were blessed with many amazing shots by their photographer, we chose to make a montage of three outstanding portraits as the cover of the thankyou card. The interior had a short, pre-printed message and plenty of room for the couple to write their own personal note of thanks.

This was such a fun project, from start to finish, and such an enjoyable experience thanks to the delightful Tamara, for her humor, laid-back attitude and overall ethusiasm for pursuing a unique and creative result for her wedding stationery. We wish Taina and Tamara all the best - thank you so much for choosing us to be involved in your special day.

Lyndsay and James
The Brief: This was a very special (and personal) project and there was lots of design involved: from invitations, to decorations and thank-you cards! We hope you will enjoy taking a peak at what we created for this special event. The colour scheme for this event was champagne, black, white and silver, and everything related in some way to the couple's love of music, and how the couple first met.

The invite was structured as a CD case, with a front cover, an inside (which contained the two CD trays, which were placed back-to-back), and a back cover (which featured a pocket for the map, accommodation information and RSVP card). The CDs were mixed compilations the couple made each other (one for Lyndsay, from James, and one for James, from Lyndsay). The inside of the front cover featured the wedding details and photos of the couple.

The inside of the back cover featured a pocket, which housed separate pieces that could be removed (and sent back, in the case of the RSVP slip). A fold-out map gave directions to the venue, and a pull-out card listed a phone number and URL for accommodation bookings. The RSVP card was a double-sided print, which had a strip of adhesive that allowed guests to fill out their attendance reply and any special dietary requirements, and post back to the couple in what became a self-sealing envelope. Each invitation was then carefully wrapped in silver tissue paper, sealed with a sticker and then individually boxed in a CD mailer.

Storybook and Cupcake Flags:
We also designed a storybook (rather than a program) to give to guests upon their arrival to the wedding. This book contained a few paragraphs on how the couple met, special thankyou's, and a list of the bridal party and their relationship to the couple. This gave guests something to look at whilst waiting for the bride to arrive, and also an opening for conversation with other guests as a bit of an ice-breaker. The booklet was made with four different patterned-covers, and was A7 in sizing. The wedding cake was a tier of cupcakes which alternated in cream and chocolate icing. Instead of expensive and fiddly decorations, we designed 'cupcake flags' which decorated each of the delicious cupcakes with the couple's colour-scheme and motif in a funky and simple fashion. There were four designs made.

Thankyou Card:
The thankyou card followed the same design motif of the invites but featured the black and white photography of the couple's wedding photographers:

The inside of the A6 card was lined with corresponding craft paper and was printed blank for Lyndsay and James to hand write their messages of thanks. Each was sealed and posted in a sleek black envelope with custom address labels.

This was a fun project which gave us a chance to try lots of new concepts. This project was also recently featured in Issue 6 of the I Do I Do Creations Magazine.
